BackupGoo 5 - tuning backup speed via parallel backups

Parallel backups
BackupGoo 5.0 has the ability to run several account backups in parallel.
This dramatically increases the backup speed.

By default BackupGoo works in a sequential manner. If you want to backup 10 accounts BackupGoo will backup account 1, then account 2, then account 3 and so on.

If you set the number of parallel backups to ten it the download speed will increase roughly ten-fold. In the example above BackupGoo will backup all 10 accounts in parallel.

Tell backup to backup in parallel mode
You can set the parallel mode either via the GUI or via the configuration file:

Simply add the following line to your backupgoo.conf:
backupgoo.core.number_of_accounts_to_backup_in_parallel = 6

This runs 6 accounts in parallel thus leading to a 6 fold increase in backup speed. Feel free to play around with the value. And please report any feedback. Thanks!

A note of caution and some limits
There are some limits, however. One limit is the download speed of your internet connection. You can only be as fast as your internet connection. Another concern is memory consumption. If you are setting the parallel mode too high you will get out of memory exceptions.
